First Impression
When I first purchased the Blaux Motion Light, I didn’t think much of it. It was just one of the more affordable options I bought.
I received my package within a couple of days of ordering. It didn’t take long to arrive, which was impressive enough.
But when I opened the package, the first thing I noticed was that it was more impressive in size and quality than I expected.
Blaux Motion Light is very light but made with good quality materials that seem durable. I also found that the whole design was well put together – this would definitely not break during installation (Another product at a higher price actually cracked during setup).
In fact, Blaux Motion Light seemed to be worth around $100 in comparison to the other products I was using.
With good materials and a solid design, I decided to try it out in my closet, a place I was constantly going in and out of throughout the day so it would get some good use.
Design
As I said, some of the other more expensive products were much shorter.
The Blaux Motion Light however was not only perfectly sized but also had a very pleasant and bright light.
Another design feature that separates Blaux Motion Light from other similar products is the way you attach it. while some products use a sticky surface or a magnet strip to attach to a surface, Blaux Motion Light uses both!
You simply peel off the cover on its back, position it, and then press on it to create a strong seal.
There’s really nothing to it.
It might seem scary to take a blood sample by yourself in the morning at home, but thanks to the testing kit and easy-to-understand instructions, it turns out to be quite undramatic even for me who freaks out at the thought of blood.
I found a place in my closet to position it. I put it up high because I wanted to see if it would stay in place. However, I could have easily placed it anywhere there was a smooth surface.
Testing
Once in place, there’s pretty much nothing to do, I found.
There are no confusing lights to monitor or switches to press to turn it on. The light sensor only activates when the room is dark – which is good for saving on the battery.
The Blaux Motion Light has a motion sensor on it, which means it only turns on when it is dark in the room and when there is motion in front of it. It has a sensitivity distance of 10 to 26 feet, which is ample. The lights turn on instantly when opening the closet door.
I also found that you don’t have to stand right in front of the light to get it to come on.
Interestingly, this was somewhat of an issue with other products. However, the Blaux Motion Light has a sensitive angle of 120 degrees, which means it will turn on even if you are not standing directly in front of it.
To test how long its battery would last, I positioned it directly under my ceiling fan so it continuously registered movement and kept shining, and it went on for at least 11 hours as promised.
When it was time to juice it up again, I simply took it down – which was simple to do as it peels right off the foam, and then I charged it with a USB to my computer.
But here’s the thing, you can use batteries as well if that is what you prefer!
