I’m a total sound geek and have even worked selling Tv and surround systems to audio and video enthusiasts. So I quickly learned what good sound quality really means.

First Impression

When I opened the package and saw the high quality material shine back at my face I recognized the high quality material from my own home theater system.

This was a game changer for me, because now at least I knew that this was a high quality speaker that wouldn’t break. More than you can say about almost every other speaker.
It had a simple interface, On button, Bluetooth and volume control. that’s it. and that’s all you need, EQ is adjusted on your phone anyway so this is just perfect. Probably the reason they can make the price so affordable.
Other than that, I was shocked to see how small the MagnaBOOM was.
Though I guess it won’t fit in any pocket, it actually fits in mine comfortably enough that I can move around without worrying about breaking it.
Testing
The MagnaBOOM came half charged so I connected my phone and pressed play on my playlist.
The MagnaBOOM shook violently in my hand as it played “Boom Boom Pow” – Black Eyed Peas. realizing it was a bad choice to play that song because it has too much base.
I quickly paused the music and stood there silently with the MagnaBOOM in one hand and my phone in the other.
What did I just say to myself? Too much base?
I didn’t understand what had just happened. I remember it so well. My brain is trying to grasp something impossible.
